Kalashree Foundation
Hindustani Classical music
The Kalashree Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Vidushi Kala Ramnath with the mission to advance Hindustani Classical music by educating the community and promoting aspiring musicians. The Kalashree Foundation offers instruction in Hindustani classical music, provides opportunities for students to perform, and organizes lecture demonstrations and concerts to connect with and educate the community.
In 2021, a grant from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grant Program will support the creation of the Kalashree Foundation’s virtual library, to serve as a resource for both teachers and students of Indian classical music. A series of inaugural recordings will document the qualities and attributes of select ragas (a melodic framework).
